Orodromeus is a genus of thescelosaurid ornithschian from the Campanian epoch of Cretaceous North America. it contains only one species; O.makelai.

Orodromeus was added to The Isle alongside Camarasaurus in Patch 0.1.14.3636.

In Real Life[]

Orodromeus reached up to 1.5 meters in length, and would likely have been prey for Troodon, Dromeoraptor, Bambiraptor, Compsognathosaurus and Daspletosaurus. Young Orodromeus were precocial, and so probably left the nest shortly after hatching.

It generally fed on low-growing vegetation, and likely could not feed on vegetation more than 90 centimeters off the ground.

Oryctodromeus, a close relative of Orodromeus, has been discovered to have dug burrows. It is yet unknown if Orodromeus also dug burrows; although the fact that the bones of this dinosaur are found packed, even in situations they typically would have been scattered, lends credence to the idea.

In The Isle[]

In The Isle, the Orodromeus is only playable in Sandbox mode and spawns as AI in Survival and Sandbox.

Behind the Scenes[]

Unfortunately, the Orodromeus is probably one of the most undeveloped dinosaurs in the game, along with the Psittacosaurus. While it was originally created as a starter dino for Progression Mode, it hasn't been updated since its addition to the gamemode (and its hotfixes). The devs have focused on making it a functional AI for smaller dinosaurs to hunt, which, at the moment, is a good niche for it.

It is unknown if it will be re-made for survival in the newer versions of The Isle.
