Camarasaurus is a playable sauropod in The Isle.

The Camarasaurus was added to The Isle alongside Orodromeus in Patch 0.1.14.3636.

In Real Life[]

Weight depends heavily on the species; the smallest, Camarasaurus SP. Specimen: QG59, weighed around 7.5 t, while the largest, C. supremus, weighed 30 t. It is believed to have been one of the most common sauropods in North America.

Coming from the group Macronaria, the Camarasaurs were a more primitive group of Sauropod that would eventually lead into the giant Titanosauriformes. This lineage had a more vertical stance on average compared to the other large sauropod group, the Diplodocoidea.

As part of its name, many of its vertebrae were hollowed out for a series of air sacs that connected to the lungs. Much like other sauropods, its front legs were shorter than its hind legs but since the shoulders were set up higher, it gave it a slope in its back. Its neck and tail were shorter than other types of sauropods. The Camarasaurus lived alongside Allosaurus, Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Ceratosaurus, and Dryosaurus during the Jurassic period.

In The Isle[]

The third-largest dinosaur in the game, excluding strains, Camarasaurus is seen as the faster version of the Puertasaurus due to its ability to run somewhat. When playing as this dinosaur, it's best to group up with others of Camarasaurus for safety from predators like Tyrannosaurus, Giganotosaurus, etc. When alone, it's best to be wary of your surroundings for any predators, though small ones like Dilophosaurus should be no problem due to your large size and trample damage, with the exception of Utahraptor, which if skilled and patient can eventually kill you.

It is currently only playable in Sandbox mode. This creature can make an appearance in survival.

The Camarasaurus is also going to get a small size buff when added to Survival eventually.
