Albertosaurus is a genus of albertosaurine tyrannosaurid from the late Campanian and early Maastrichian of North America. It contains one species, A.sarcophagus.
The Albertosaurus was added to The Isle in Patch 0.1.15.4005.
Real Life
Albertosaurus was a modestly-sized predator, typically about 9 meters (30 ft) in length and weighing anywhere between 1.3 and 1.7 tonnes in weight. Like other tyrannosaurids, the 1 meter long head is the primary hunting tool.
Albertosaurus likely hunted animals such as Hypacrosaurus, Anodontosaurus and Ornithomimus by using its jaws.
In the Isle
Albertosaurus is a medium to large Tyrannosaurid that is strong enough to kill medium sized prey, but needs help to kill larger herbivores such as Stegosaurus and Shantungosaurus.
Its main rival is the Allosaurus, which is faster and more agile. It is better to avoid Acrocanthosaurus (and other Apex predators) since they are much bigger and more powerful. Although Albertosaurus can out turn Tyrannosaurus and Giganotosaurus so if you are smart you can solo an apex but it is risky.
Your best prey item is Maiasaura, which can be taken down by either a pair or even a solo Albertosuaurus. Other prey include Carnotaurus, Utahraptor, Diabloceratops, Baryonyx, Therizinosaurus, and Ceratosaurus. The Albertosaurus currently cannot nest.
It is currently only playable in Sandbox mode.
