Baryonyx is a genus of spinosaurid from the Barremian stage of the Cretaceous.
In Real Life
Baryonyx was about 9 meters in length and weighed 1.2 tons; although the holotype specimen may not have been at full growth upon death.
It was a generalist carnivore, preying on both fish and dinosaurs. Although it probably lived near water, Baryonyx shows none of the adaptations to swimming that the more derived Spinosaurus shows, indicating it likely wasn't as aquatically-inclined. It probably used it's teeth and claws as weapons for procuring food.
In The Isle
Originally planned to be playable in Progression, the Baryonyx has since been relegated to AI only for Survival.
Due to it's relatively slow speed compared to other carnivores, Baryonyx should stick close to water sources and hide in the water if any larger predators, such as Carnotaurus and Allosaurus, come around. Once they leave, slowly move out of the water; once sure that they are gone, you can go back to fishing for food.
If hunting for land prey, stay hidden until your prey come close for you to get, stay crouched in order to not get spotted. When your prey sits to rest, then charge at them and bite them until they die.
